Want to change the way people watch TV? We are seeking an experienced Senior Content Acquisition Manager to expand the selection of video content available for Amazon’s customers on Prime Video Channels. This is a unique opportunity to help create the new video landscape.

Prime Video Channels is looking for exceptionally talented, bright and driven people. Prime Video is fast becoming one of the major global players in digital entertainment. We are changing the way millions of customers enjoy movies and TV shows through Amazon Prime, new releases for rent or purchase, and subscription through Prime Video Channels. Prime Video Channels, launched in 2015, distributes video channels OTT including HBO, Showtime, Starz, Acorn TV, PBS Masterpiece and many more channels without a cable subscription.

Amazon is seeking a savvy and analytical digital content licensing executive to join our Amazon Channels content acquisition team. This individual will be responsible for helping to define and, in turn, execute the content strategy for our Prime Video Channels business in the US.

In addition to strong negotiation skills, the ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who has an attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple priorities, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves up as needed. They must have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate thoughts and ideas, both written and verbally, and think outside of their direct sphere of responsibility.

This position is located in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities:
§ Develop acquisition plans, financial metrics, and goals for senior management
§ Establish and manage strong relationships with content providers at a senior level
§ Lead all aspects of content licensing negotiations, including content selection, financial analysis, forecasting, and technical requirements
§ Use data on customer behavior, usage and consumption to inform decision-making
§ Collaborate with internal teams across all functional areas within Prime Video to execute partnerships (e.g., marketing, public relations, finance, operations, etc.)
§ Work closely with Prime Video leaders to develop new services and product offerings
§ Maintain a can-do attitude and willingness and flexibility to solve problems at short notice, using any tools necessary
§ Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior leaders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years business experience, with 6+ years of experience in media content deals, including strong negotiation and partner development skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex license and/or business development agreements
  • Knowledge of digital video landscape, including solid understanding of digital video distribution technologies
  • Excellent business judgment and demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
  • Strong ability to understand product and technical requirements and interface with Product/Technology teams.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced and highly changing environment with little guidance
  • End to end ownership of major project deliverables
  • Self-starter who is customer obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or JD strongly preferred
