Additional Information

The Director, Digital Marketing Strategy is a critical new role for the McCombs School of Business. As we develop a more cohesive digital experience for all of our audiences, we seek a leader to outline the strategies, tactics and technologies to bring this experience to life.

Essential Functions

DIGITAL STRATEGY: Drive the overall strategy, success and experience across externally-facing, owned digital properties, starting with Work with McCombs Brand, Portfolio/Program and Alumni marketing teams to best represent our story, our offerings and message to the market via the site and other digital properties, supporting the information and engagement needs of each audience.

WEBSITE MANAGEMENT: Own website design, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines, accessibility and responsive design, as well as responsibility and management of all visual assets. Effectively manage Sitecore CMS to support all McCombs domains. Maintain a site architecture and site templates to accommodate all content. Own SEO strategy and execution.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: Enable and support both degree and Executive Education program acquisition and revenue targets in the form of requests for information, application starts and completions and course registrations. Leverage insights and site analytics to drive for continued performance, UX and content improvements. Lead SEO audit of current assets and recommend architecture, process and content improvements.

TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT: Leverage best-of-breed technology to enable a cohesive digital experience for our audiences. Specifically own decisions related to the CMS and other marketing technologies, with the potential to own/influence decisions and recommendations around other web-related applications and related technology.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: Manage team of 7+ staff, contractors, and student works responsible for the design, UX, front-end and back-end development of the website. The Director will build and steer the team with the initial purpose of refreshing our McCombs website, but will also guide the the team to manage overall McCombs digital experience for external audiences via other McCombs-owned properties.

Required qualifications

Able to motivate, influence and get work done through others. Managerial skills required include planning work, filling jobs, assigning work, empowering others, motivating, coaching, measuring work of others, building social contracts. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills. Professional demeanor, service-oriented mentality, demonstrated ability to meet SLAs. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a strong digital affinity; 10+ years of digital/web strategy in agency or corporate setting; 5+ years of management experience. Hands-on experience with multiple CMS environments, including Sitecore, Google Analytics, Salesforce/Marketing Cloud, social measurement and video integration tools; understands the principles of great web design and UX/UI, along with responsive design and accessibility. Experience using content marketing strategies to drive, engage and convert traffic via digital properties, plus optimizing the website’s role in lead capture and nurture. Strong analytical abilities and interest in working with data, analyzing outcomes, and scoping out key insights to establish continuous optimization; extensive knowledge of SEO best practices, implementation and monitoring as well as A/B testing platform integration. Organized self-starter who demonstrates creativity and drive in promoting the corporate brand. Ability to balance between strategic and creative decision-making, and disciplined program management; experience developing and/or implementing digital tools using HTML, Javascript, C-sharp and .NET.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
